After School Opportunities for MMS Students

The Academic Center-- 

The Academic Center is available after school on Wednesday and Thursday. The Academic Center in the MMS library provides teacher supervised study time. Academic Center offers a great opportunity for students who would like some extra help in any of their academic classes. The MMS Library is open every Monday after school until 4:15.

MMS Fitness Club --

The MMS Fit Gym after school programs begins October 10^th. The weight room/condition gym will be open after school on Monday and Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:15p.m.for student use.  Tracey Moreno, a certified personal trainer, will monitor and instruct participants.  These one hour training sessions will focus on improving cardiovascular endurance, musculoskeletal strength, and flexibility.  Participation is limited to 16 students per day.  Applications are available on the MMS blue board, and scholarships are available.

The MacDonald Middle School Leadership Club will begin meeting again for this school year very soon! This fun after-school club meets every Tuesday after school until 4:45. Students will develop leadership skills, discuss what it means to be a leader in their school and community, participate in fun teambuilding activities, and complete service projects. Last year, leadership club students held a "kindness campaign" in MacDonald, including planning a Mix-it-Up Day and holding a Random Acts of Kindness contest; they also raised $1,000 for Haven House, a local homeless shelter, and painted a mural at the shelter.  MMS YearBook Club

The Yearbook Club will meet on Wednesdays after school from 3:15 – 4:30p.m. starting October 12th.  Thank you for all who applied.

Late Bus Information

The Late Bus will provide rides to students from MMS to several stops throughout the city on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Students who would like to ride may catch the bus at 4:20.
