Project Status
 

The following includes the major projects of the bond and their current status:

1. Network infrastructure upgrade:  The switching hardware that connects the district buildings and provides for the fiber and wireless network was upgraded in the summer of 2013. The project was bid in keeping with Board and state policy and was awarded to Data Strategy. This project provided for the necessary wireless and increased bandwidth in order to accommodate the increase in mobile devices and instructional media demands. This project is complete. Contracted $550,699.81

2. Electronic access: This project provided for electronic door locks on the primary exterior doors for each district building. The system provides for the monitoring and reporting of all key card usage and the system can lock all connected doors instantaneously. This project was bid in the summer of 2013 and in keeping with Board and state policy and was awarded to ROK. This project is complete. Contracted $61,665.65

3. Surveillance system: This project replaced the existing system in the High School and MacDonald and added exterior only surveillance to the elementary buildings. This project was bid in the summer of 2013 and in keeping with Board and state policy. Midstate Security was the awarded contractor and this project is complete. Contracted $244,268.00

4. District telephone system: This project was bid in the summer of 2014 and replaced the district phone system with a VOIP system (meaning it runs across the District network). This project met state bid policy and the hardware was awarded to Data Strategy, the configuration and service awarded to Secant. This project is complete. Budgeted $254,000.00

5. Classroom AV: This project replaced the projectors, sound systems, and interactive technology in every District classroom. The SmartBoards were replaced with 'dry erase' boards and the interactivity was relocated to the projector, as opposed to the physical board. This was done to provide for wide formatting whereas the SmartBoards were limited to a 4:3 aspect ratio. For more information, please refer to the Post Bond FAQ, question 10.This project was bid in the summer of 2014 in keeping with Board and state policy and was awarded to MOSS. This project is complete.

6. Building clocks and PA upgrades: This project replaced the elementary buildings clock and PA systems and completed aspects of the MacDonald clock system that were incomplete from the previous bond project. This project was bid in the summer of 2014 in keeping with Board and state policy and was awarded to Central Interconnect. This project is complete. Budgeted $120,255.60
