PreK/Early Childhood Community Survey
The Board of Education has directed a PreK/Early Childhood Teacher Leader Committee to examine the need for preschool programming within the East Lansing Public Schools. Many children enter kindergarten without the skills necessary to succeed. Ensuring that all children are entering kindergarten with the foundational skills they need to succeed is a major priority in our community. Research shows that participation in a high-quality early childhood education program can enhance children’s development, reduce achievement gaps at kindergarten entry, and have long-term benefits for children’s school trajectories. This survey is an attempt to gather information about the need and desire for enhanced early childhood opportunities in the East Lansing Public School District.
We very much appreciate your input and welcome your comments. Thank you very much for your time in responding to our survey:
